My oldest daughter Amy decided she wanted to try something new with Americans. She has had great sucess in building
our Roan long hair breed line and wanted to see if we could find some Roans in Americans. Needless to say there were
no Roan Americans in Texas and shipping is rather difficult for us. We are 3 hours from the nearest shippers office.
So she mixed a couple of pigs and these are the results. It will take a few generations to work out all the genetic
bugs so to speak, but progress is being made. She has second and soon to come third generation in the works. Below
are the pigs she is presently working with. Not all this stock is necessarily show quality as in color per the Standard
of Perfection. However, you have to start somewhere!
